Why It Matters:

You can achieve a more personalized and comprehensive report by providing some non-identifiable demographic information and recording specific details about each bowel movement.

  1. Visit S-Wipe.io Web App:

    - Before collecting your sample, visit s-wipe.io and fill out the requested information. This ensures that your report will be personalized.

    - For each collection, you will be asked to report specific information about your bowel movement

  1. Prepare the kit

    - Put on the provided gloves to prevent contamination.

    - Arrange the kit components conveniently.

Instructions:

  1. Collect the Sample:

    - Use the provided wipe, just like toilet paper, after a bowel movement.

    - Place the used wipe into one of the collection tubes with the preservation fluid.

    - Securely close the tube to avoid any leaks during shipping.

    - Place the sealed tube in the provided kit box or shipping envelope, but do not close it yet, as you'll need to add the other tubes later.

  2. Repeat as Needed (for consecutive bowel movements):

    - You can collect as many as 3 distinct samples(one sample per bowel movement). The more samples you collect, the more accurate your results.

    - Each time you collect a sample, report the specific information about the bowel movement in the S-Wipe.io web app by scanning the barcode on the collection tube.

Why It Matters:

Proper and consistent sample collection is crucial for accurate analysis. Collecting multiple samples increases the accuracy and reliability of your gut health report.

Step 2: Collect Your Samples

Instructions:

  1. Store the Tubes:

Keep collected samples in the provided kit box or shipping envelope

  2. Package the Samples:

    - There are by-products of protein metabolism in the gut.

    - High levels may indicate excessive protein intake and can contribute to the foul odor of bowel movements.

  3. Smell Score:

    - Compares your p-cresol, indole, skatole, and phenol levels to a reference population.

    - Provides insights into the overall health and functionality of your digestive system.

  4. Fiber Suggestions:

    - Personalized suggestions based on your SCFA profile.

    - Includes specific types of fiber like wheat, inulin, and whole grains, and their suggested intake percentages.

SCFA Analysis:

According to recent research (Blaak et al., 2020; Candeliere et al., 2022), SCFAs play a crucial role in maintaining gut health. They are produced by gut bacteria during the fermentation of dietary fiber and are essential for colonocyte health and immune function.

P-Cresol and Indole:

These metabolites are indicators of protein fermentation in the gut. High levels can indicate imbalances in protein digestion and absorption, which can lead to health issues if not addressed.
